It is known that the Rule of Law, Stability and Peace Committee highlighted the need to form the monitoring groups in their report to the Chairman of the Pyithu Hluttaw. After conducting some informed inspection tours of various level of courts in Yangon and Mandalay Regions, the committee advised to form the monitoring groups to implement the surprise checks and watching to battle against the bribery and corruption as well as illegal influences over the judicial process by the various administrativeU Win Myint, Secretary of the Rule of Law, Stability and Peace Committee said,” Chair of the committee, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi approved the report of the committee members on the findings with some comments and advices, and on behalf of the committee, I submitted the report to Hluttaw.”
“According to the findings during the inspection tours of the courts in Yangon and Mandalay Regions, the committee urged the assembly to take immediate action to suppress the malpractices of bribery and corruptions, influences by the administrative authorities and undesirable delays in the judicial process.” continued U Win Myint.
U Win Myint Said,:” We also stated in the suppression of bribery to punish both of the taker and giver, forming of monitoring groups, taking legal action to whoever committed wrong, Lawyers, Judges, Police, Medical staff and witnesses.”
An MP, U Min Thu said,” It is important to select the right persons in the monitoring groups because in the land dispute suits in Nay Pyi Taw, there are involvements of bribery.”
The MP from NLD, U Min Thu said,” In Nay Pyi Taw we always heard that the local administrative authorities are involving in the land disputes,filing injustice law suits, influencing the relevant officials and confiscating the lands and demolishing the buildings.”
U Win Myint, the Secretary of the Rule Of Law, Stability and Peace Committee said,” To make Myanmar free from corruption and a country with rule of law, we will conduct awareness educations in the States and Regions, meetings with Union Government members, collecting suggestions of Lawyers, Law Officers, Judges in service and retired ones.”
